New in Version 3.3.0

The Joy Of Text Pro plugin, version 3.3.0 contains a number of new features and fixes. The most significant are described below.

WooCommerce Integration.

In recent versions of the Joy Of Text Pro, an option was included in the Settings, that would create a dynamic group containing all WooCommerce customers. This group was created “on the fly” by reading all of the site’s WooCommerce orders and extracting the customer details from the orders to create the group. This approach proved to be a little inefficient on large WooCommmerce sites, with thousands of orders in their database, therefore Version 3.3.0 reintroduces an initial manual synchronization of WooCommerce with a selected Joy Of Text group.

As shown in the image below, from the Messaging-Settings-WooCommerce Settings page, there is a Customer Synchronization tab, which allows you to select a Joy Of Text group, into which your WooCommerce customers will be copied. You can select the status of orders you want to sync, for example, if you select “Completed” orders, then the details of customers who have completed orders, will be sync’d to the selected JOT group.  The group will appear in the Message and Group Manager tabs as a normal JOT group.

The customer details for new WooCommerce orders will be automatically added to the selected JOT group, you do not need to resync after every received order.

Receiving MMS messages

The Pro version can now receive MMS messages, which are displayed on the Message History tab. Hovering over the “MMS image” label will display a popup of the first image/media item received. Clicking on the link will display all of the received media items.

Batch manager view

A new view, called the Batch Manager, has been added to the Message History tab. The purpose of the Batch Manager view is to provide a summary status of a batch of messages, reporting on metrics such as the number of message recipients selected, the number queued and their status. Clicking on a batch will display a popup window showing the recipients and the status of the messages.

Multiple search criteria

Multiple search criteria can now be used on the Messages tab search box, each separated by a semicolon. For example, the image below shows the results of searching for the terms “sup;stu” which searches the recipient list for both terms – “sup” and “stu”, returning rows containing both.
